Best Pet for Archer Queen 2026: Unicorn or Frosty?
The best pet for the Archer Queen in 2026: Unicorn for long walks, Frosty inside the base, Phoenix for charges, and the picks at Town Hall 14 and 15.

Which Pet Is Best for the Archer Queen?
Quick answer: As of October 2026, the Unicorn is the best pet for most Archer Queen attacks, because it heals her through a long walk. Frosty suits her inside the base behind tanks, and Phoenix suits a charge. With no Dragon Duke in the army, try Angry Jelly. Practice on a base from our base finder.
That's the short answer.
The longer one depends on her job in the attack. A Queen walk, a Queen charge and a cleanup Queen want different things from a pet. The sections below go through each one, plus the Town Hall levels where some pets aren't unlocked yet.
Archer Queen Pet Picks at a Glance
Pick the row that matches the attack you plan.
| Her job in the attack | Pet | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Long Queen walk with Healers | Unicorn | Heals her the whole time |
| Inside the base behind tank troops | Frosty | Frostmites slow the defenses near her |
| Queen charge into a strong core | Phoenix | A second life after a big burst |
| No Dragon Duke in the army | Angry Jelly | Brainwash keeps her on defenses |
| Town Hall 14 | Unicorn | Best of the first four pets for her |
| Town Hall 15 | Unicorn or Phoenix | Phoenix unlocks at Pet House level 8 |
Each pet goes to one hero per attack. So the Queen's pick also depends on who else in your army wants the same pet.
Why the Unicorn Fits a Long Queen Walk
The Unicorn does one thing. It heals its Hero over time.
That sounds plain next to newer pets. But a Queen walk is long. She can spend much of the attack shooting along the edge of a base while Healers keep her alive. If an Air Defense or a Seeking Air Mine takes the Healers out, the Unicorn still heals her.
It's also had more room to grow than most pets. Supercell's Clash Anytime update notes from March 2025 added Unicorn levels 11 to 15 at Town Hall 17. I checked that page on 30 October 2026, and it lists those five levels under the new pet levels.
The Unicorn is a Town Hall 14 pet, so every Queen from Town Hall 14 up can use it.
Frosty When She Fights Inside the Base
Frosty slows enemies with icy breath. Small Frostmites jump off him and slow defenses too. He targets ground and air within 4.5 tiles of his Hero.
That matters most when the Queen walks into the base behind tank troops. Slower defenses near her mean fewer shots on her and on the tanks in front.
On a long edge walk with Healers, the Unicorn still does more. Frosty unlocks at Pet House level 5, which needs Town Hall 15.
Some players want Frosty on the Barbarian King too. If the King takes him, the Queen goes back to the Unicorn.
Phoenix: When She Has to Survive One Big Hit
Phoenix starts as an egg that follows her Hero. When the Hero is about to be knocked out, the Phoenix revives herself and the Hero under a short shield. When the shield ends, the Hero goes down and the Phoenix fights on.
So it's one extra life on a timer. It suits a Queen charge, where she walks straight into a core full of Scattershots and Infernos. A Unicorn's slow healing can't keep up with that much damage at once.
Phoenix unlocks at Pet House level 8, which needs Town Hall 15. It arrived with the Town Hall 15 update in October 2022.
On a slow walk, the Phoenix often waits the whole attack for a revive that never comes. That's why the Unicorn wins there.
Angry Jelly on the Queen, and When the Duke Needs It More
Angry Jelly is a flying pet with a long range attack. Its ability, Brainwash, forces its Hero to target defenses only. During Brainwash, the Jelly can't be targeted and doesn't trigger traps.
On the Queen, that keeps her arrows on defenses instead of on walls, huts and storages. For a Queen charge, that can decide the attack.
There's a catch. Our Dragon Duke pet guide puts Angry Jelly first for the Duke, and only one hero can take it. If the Duke is in your army, he usually gets the Jelly. If he isn't, give it to the Queen.
Angry Jelly needs Pet House level 10 and Town Hall 16.
Is Spirit Fox Worth It With the Invisibility Vial?
Usually not. The Spirit Fox's ability, Spirit Walk, makes the Fox and its Hero invisible for a few seconds. The Queen's Invisibility Vial already turns her invisible for a short time and raises her damage per shot.
Two tools that do the same job crowd each other out. A pet slot that adds healing or a revive gives her something the Vial can't.
The Fox makes more sense when she runs two other pieces of gear, such as the Frozen Arrow with the Healer Puppet. Then the Fox brings the only invisibility in her kit.
Her Equipment Changes the Pick
The pet and the gear work as one kit. Here's how her common setups line up with a pet.
| Equipment pair | Pet that fits | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Healer Puppet and Invisibility Vial | Unicorn | More healing on a long walk |
| Invisibility Vial and Frozen Arrow | Phoenix | A revive for the dive into the core |
| Healer Puppet and Frozen Arrow | Spirit Fox | Invisibility she doesn't have yet |
These are starting points, not rules. Your hero levels matter more than any table. Our Archer Queen equipment guide covers the gear itself.
Did the October 2026 Balance Changes Touch Her?
Yes, through her gear. No pet changed. I read Supercell's October 2026 balance changes on 30 October, and the Frozen Arrow got a buff.
Supercell's numbers come from Town Hall 18 war and CWL attacks over four weeks. The Frozen Arrow showed up in around 7% of attacks, and those attacks three starred about 31% of the time. So Supercell raised its slow by 5 percentage points at every level. Its damage also went up at levels 21 to 27, and max level damage rose from 168 to 175.
That makes the Frozen Arrow and Spirit Fox pairing above a little more worth a test. It doesn't change the Unicorn as her default pet.
Best Archer Queen Pet at Town Hall 14 and 15
At Town Hall 14, you have four pets: L.A.S.S.I, Electro Owl, Mighty Yak and Unicorn. Give her the Unicorn.
Electro Owl is the next best there. Its attack bounces once to a nearby target, and its favorite target is its Hero's target. It's a fine pick if another hero already has the Unicorn.
Town Hall 15 adds Frosty, Diggy, Poison Lizard and Phoenix. Most Queen walks still want the Unicorn. Move her to Frosty when she fights inside behind tanks, or to Phoenix for a charge.
Spirit Fox and Angry Jelly wait for Town Hall 16.
What Reddit Players Pick for Her
I read five r/ClashOfClans threads about hero pets, posted between January and August 2026. Thirteen posts and comments named a pet for the Queen, and I counted the picks.
| Pet | Posts and comments that named it for her |
|---|---|
| Unicorn | 10 |
| Frosty | 3 |
| Mighty Yak | 2 |
| Spirit Fox | 1 |
Some comments named two pets, so the column adds up to more than thirteen. One thread was about Town Hall 15, and all four replies that named her pet picked the Unicorn.
The Frosty fans gave a clear reason. One wrote that Frosty is better when she goes inside the village while troops tank for her, because the Frostmites help a lot. Another said the Unicorn adds less when she carries the Action Figure, which that player said already heals her.
The Yak picks came from players tired of her shooting walls. A reply in the same thread called that problem overstated and said to give her the Fox or the Unicorn.
Thirteen picks is a small sample. Use it as a feel for what players run.
Pets That Rarely Suit Her
Some pets do a narrow job that the Queen doesn't need.
Mighty Yak deals extra damage to walls. Some players give it to her because she stops to shoot walls. We'd rather clear her path with Wall Breakers or a Jump Spell and give the pet slot to healing.
Greedy Raven goes for resource buildings near its Hero and deals 5x damage to them. That helps a farming attack. In war, she needs help on defenses, not storages.
Poison Lizard goes after defending heroes and troops first. It can help against Clan Castle troops that chase her, but on most bases a healing pet does more.
None of these is wrong for a farming raid. They just lose to the Unicorn and the Phoenix in war.
Which Pet Should You Level First for Her?
Level the pet she uses most. For most players that's the Unicorn, since it serves her from Town Hall 14 onward.
Next comes Phoenix if you charge with her, or Angry Jelly if your army runs without the Duke. Leave Mighty Yak and Greedy Raven until your war pets are done.
Pet upgrades still run in the Pet House, one pet at a time.
Sharing Pets With Her Other Heroes
Every hero wants a pet, and no pet can go to two heroes. So decide in this order.
- 1Give Angry Jelly to the Dragon Duke if he's in the army.
- 2Give the Unicorn to the Queen.
- 3Give Sneezy to the Grand Warden at Town Hall 17 and up.
- 4Hand Phoenix or Spirit Fox to whichever hero dives deepest.
Our Grand Warden pet guide explains why the Warden wants Sneezy. With that order set, the Queen rarely loses her Unicorn.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best pet for the Archer Queen in 2026?
The Unicorn is the best pet for most Archer Queen attacks as of October 2026. It heals her over time, which suits a long Queen walk. Frosty is a strong pick when she fights inside the base behind tank troops. Phoenix is the better pick when she charges into a strong core.
Is Phoenix or Unicorn better on the Archer Queen?
It depends on the attack. The Unicorn wins on a long walk, because its healing never stops. Phoenix wins on a charge, because it revives her once under a short shield. If you aren't sure, start with the Unicorn.
Should the Archer Queen use Angry Jelly?
Only if the Dragon Duke isn't in your army. Angry Jelly's Brainwash forces its hero to target defenses only, and the Duke usually gets the most out of it. Without the Duke, the Jelly keeps the Queen shooting defenses instead of walls and huts.
What pet should the Archer Queen use at Town Hall 14?
Use the Unicorn. Town Hall 14 has four pets, and the Unicorn is the only one that heals her. Electro Owl is the backup if another hero already has the Unicorn.
Does the Spirit Fox work with the Invisibility Vial?
It can, but the two do the same job. The Vial already makes her invisible for a short time, so a healing or revive pet usually adds more. The Fox fits best when she runs the Frozen Arrow and the Healer Puppet instead. Our pet tier list ranks all 12 pets.
