Best TH11 Attack Strategy 2026: eDrags, Dragons, Hybrid
Three TH11 war armies for 2026: Zap Electro Dragons, Giant Arrow Dragons and a Queen charge hybrid, plus how to plan each one around the Eagle Artillery.

The Short Answer
Quick answer: As of October 2026, Zap Electro Dragons are the TH11 war army players lean on most, with Lightning Spells on the Air Defenses and a Battle Blimp for the Eagle Artillery. Giant Arrow Dragons are the steadier air pick, and a Queen charge hybrid is the ground pick. Scout layouts on our base finder first.
That's the short version.
Town Hall 11 is where one building starts to shape every attack. The Eagle Artillery sits in most cores, and it punishes an army that walks in without a plan. Each army below has its own answer to it.
What Makes a TH11 Base Hard in 2026?
The Eagle Artillery. It stays quiet at the start of a battle, then wakes up once enough troops are down.
Supercell's June 2022 balance notes set that wake up point at 200 housing space of deployed troops, for every Eagle level. I checked that note on 30 October 2026.
The Eagle isn't the only problem. In a September 2026 Reddit thread, a new TH11 player listed what kept beating his ground army: crafted defenses, single target Inferno Towers, the Eagle and the defending Minion Prince.
That's a lot to plan around. Our TH11 upgrade guide covers what your own base unlocks at this level. This guide is about breaking someone else's.
Army 1: Zap Electro Dragons
Electro Dragons are the army TH11 players use most. Reddit threads from 2026 call it eDrag spam, and some players ask how to move away from it. It stays popular because it works.
The plan is simple. Lightning Spells take out the Air Defenses on one side. Then the Electro Dragons go in. Their lightning jumps from building to building, so a tight core falls fast.
It also forgives mistakes. You don't need strong heroes to get two stars with it, which is why many players never leave it.
Our Electro Dragon attack guide goes deeper into the zap setup.
Did Supercell Buff Electro Dragons in 2026?
Twice. I read both sets of notes on 30 October 2026.
Supercell's January 2026 balance changes raised Electro Dragon HP by 3.08% to 6.25% and damage per second by 2.04% to 8.33%, for levels 1 to 9. That range covers the levels a TH11 player owns.
The July 2026 balance update went further in its wording. Supercell wrote that Electro Dragons were struggling among popular war armies. It gave them a small HP and damage boost at the top two levels only.
So your TH11 eDrags got their buff in January. The July change was aimed at much higher Town Halls.
How to Run the eDrag Attack Step by Step
Most failed eDrag attacks fail at the edges, not the core. The dragons drift around the outside and the timer runs out.
One TH11 player described exactly that in August 2026. The eDrags went in, the heroes cleared, and the base still wasn't finished in time. The replies gave a plan that fixes it.
- 1Funnel one side with the King and the Queen. Give her the Giant Arrow.
- 2Use the Giant Arrow on an Air Sweeper. Sweepers blow air troops back and split the dragons.
- 3Send a Battle Blimp from your Clan Castle toward the Eagle Artillery or the core.
- 4Drop the Electro Dragons in a line behind the funnel, so they all walk the same path.
- 5Cast Rage and the Warden's Eternal Tome as the dragons reach the core.
One reply added a Clone and a Rage where the Blimp opens. That turns its Balloons into a second push inside the base.
Army 2: Giant Arrow Dragons With Zap Quake
Regular Dragons are the steadier air army. Zap quake means Lightning Spells plus an Earthquake on the same Air Defense, so fewer spells clear it.
One TH11 player switched from Golem Witch to Giant Arrow Dragons with zap quake in April 2026. He wrote that it three starred TH11 and TH12 bases with ease, and often TH13 too. His only complaint was that it felt the same every time.
Another player gave this advice in a May 2026 thread:
- 1Keep the Dragons in the center of your line.
- 2Rage them into the core.
- 3Freeze single target Infernos, the Town Hall, or anything else dangerous.
- 4Funnel with your heroes.
Dragons also carry well past TH11. Our TH12 attack guide shows how the plan grows once you move up.
Army 3: The Queen Charge Hybrid
This is the ground pick. The Queen walks into one side with Healers behind her. Then Hog Riders and Miners take the rest of the base.
Replies in a September 2026 thread gave a TH11 player these fixes:
- 1Swap normal Wall Breakers for 2 or 3 Super Wall Breakers.
- 2Send the King down one side and the Miners through the middle.
- 3Use the Queen charge to kill the Clan Castle troops and the Eagle Artillery. A defending Archer Queen or Minion Prince is a bonus.
- 4Time the Warden's ability for the moment the Hogs and Miners walk into traps or splash defenses.
The same reply said a Queen with the Frozen Arrow can clear about a quarter of the base on her own.
There's a weak point. The player who asked found that his Hogs died fast without Heal Spells or the Eternal Tome. If the Clan Castle troops survive the charge, they chase the Hogs too.
Why the Eagle Artillery Decides Your Plan
Every army above treats the Eagle as the first problem. Here's why.
It wakes up after 200 housing space of troops are on the field. Before that, your funnel and your Queen charge work without it. After that, it starts shelling your main army until it falls.
That's why the eDrag plan aims a Blimp at it. It's also why the hybrid aims the Queen charge at it.
Scout where it sits before you pick an army. A deep, central Eagle suits a Blimp. An Eagle near one edge suits a Queen charge from that side.
Ground Armies for Players Who Don't Like Air
Some players came back to Clash for ground attacks and won't spam dragons. The 2026 threads I read named these ground armies at TH11.
| Army | What players said about it |
|---|---|
| Golem Witch with Earthquake | Strong at TH11 if you funnel properly |
| Super Archer smash | Easy to three star max TH11 and TH12 bases |
| Super Archers with a Super Wizard Blimp | A Blimp variant of the same idea |
| Queen charge with Bowlers | Decent at TH11 |
| P.E.K.K.A with Valkyries and Witches or Bowlers | Not meta, but fun and steady with Warden support |
The last one came with a full plan. The King and Queen clear the outside, Earthquake, Jump or Wall Breakers open the inside, and Rage lets the big troops shred the core.
None of these is as easy as eDrags. They do teach funnels, spell timing and walls, which every higher Town Hall needs.
Which Army Fits the Base in Front of You?
Look at the base for ten seconds before you choose. These are starting points, not rules.
| What you see | Army | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Buildings packed tight in the core | Zap Electro Dragons | Their lightning jumps between close buildings |
| Air Sweepers covering the core | Giant Arrow Dragons | The Arrow takes a Sweeper early |
| Eagle and Clan Castle near one edge | Queen charge hybrid | The charge kills both before the main push |
| Air Defenses you can't reach with spells | Queen charge hybrid | Ground troops ignore Air Defenses |
| You want a calm, repeatable plan | Giant Arrow Dragons | The same steps work on most bases |
If two rows fit, pick the army you've practiced more. A familiar army beats a perfect one.
What TH11 Players on Reddit Say
I read five r/ClashOfClans threads about TH11 attacks, posted between April and September 2026. Together they hold about 60 posts and comments. Three things came up again and again.
- 1eDrags work, but many players find them dull. Two of the five thread titles ask how to move away from them.
- 2Dragons last. A TH16 player said he still runs Dragons because they work without needing strong heroes.
- 3Ground players struggle more. One reply told a ground player there's no reason to attack on the ground at TH11.
We don't agree with that last one. The Queen charge hybrid still three stars TH11 bases for players who practice it. It just asks more of your timing than eDrags do.
Mistakes That Cost the Third Star
These come up in almost every TH11 help thread.
- 1Leaving the Eagle for last. Once it wakes up, it keeps hitting your main army until it falls.
- 2Ignoring Air Sweepers. They push dragons off their path, and the core never sees them.
- 3A Queen charge that misses the Clan Castle. The defending troops then chase your Hogs and Miners.
- 4Hogs with no heals. Bring Heal Spells or the Eternal Tome, or they melt in the first splash.
- 5No funnel. Dragons and eDrags wander along the edges, and the timer runs out with the core still standing.
Fix one of these per attack. That's faster than changing armies.
Where These Picks Come From
I read Supercell's January and July 2026 balance notes on 30 October 2026, plus the June 2022 note that set the Eagle's wake up point. I also read the five Reddit threads above and counted which armies came up.
I didn't run these attacks myself for this guide. The armies are the ones TH11 players report using in 2026, and the balance numbers are Supercell's own. If a later balance update changes Electro Dragons or the Eagle, this guide will change with it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best TH11 army for war in 2026?
Zap Electro Dragons are the most used TH11 war army in the 2026 Reddit threads I read. Giant Arrow Dragons with zap quake are a steadier air pick. For ground, a Queen charge with Hog Riders and Miners still works. Pick the one that fits the base you scout.
Are Electro Dragons still good at TH11?
Yes. Supercell buffed their HP and damage at levels 1 to 9 in January 2026, which covers TH11. In July 2026, Supercell said they were struggling among popular war armies and boosted the top two levels. That second boost is for much higher Town Halls.
When does the Eagle Artillery start firing?
It starts once the attacker deploys 200 housing space of troops. Supercell set that number for every Eagle level in its June 2022 balance changes. Before that, it stays quiet. Plan a Battle Blimp or a Queen charge to take it early.
Can you three star at TH11 with a ground army?
Yes, but players find it harder than air. A Queen charge with Hog Riders and Miners is the ground army most often recommended. Golem Witch with Earthquake and Super Archer smash are other picks from 2026 threads. Bring Heal Spells, because Hogs die fast without them.
Which Grand Warden ability fits a TH11 attack?
Players on Reddit pair Electro Dragons with the Warden's Eternal Tome, cast as the push reaches the core. In a hybrid, time it for the moment the Hogs and Miners walk into traps or splash defenses. Our Grand Warden equipment guide covers which pieces to level first.
