Best TH12 Attack Strategy 2026: Dragons, Witches, Hybrid
Three TH12 war armies for 2026: Super Dragons with a Super Yeti Blimp, Fireball Super Witches, and a Queen charge hybrid, with the spell placement for each.

The Short Answer
Quick answer: The TH12 war plan I'd start with in October 2026 is Super Dragons with a Super Yeti Blimp and Clone spells. Fireball Super Witches are the ground pick Reddit players praised most, and a Queen charge hybrid covers bases with grouped air defense. Scout layouts on our base finder before you pick one.
Town Hall 12 is where attacks start to need a plan. The Giga Tesla sits inside the Town Hall, the Infernos hit harder, and one bad funnel can end the run in the first minute.
You don't need ten armies. You need one air attack and one ground attack you can run without thinking. This guide gives you both, plus a third for the bases that beat the first two. Everything here is current as of October 2026.
What Changes When You Attack at TH12
Three things shape a TH12 attack.
First, the Town Hall fights back. At TH12 it carries the Giga Tesla, so the core of the base is a defense in its own right. Many plans send something heavy straight at it.
Second, your spell list grows. The Overgrowth Spell unlocks at Town Hall 12, once the Dark Spell Factory reaches level 6. That's straight from Supercell's patch notes.
Third, your Clan Castle matters more. Spells like the Totem only unlock at Town Hall 16, so at TH12 they arrive only as donations. Ask your clan for the spell your plan needs before war day.
Keep these in mind as you read. Each army below answers the Giga Tesla in a different way. One flies a Blimp into it. Another walks Super Witches through it. The third opens a path with the Queen first.
Army 1: Super Dragons With a Super Yeti Blimp
I read a TH12 attack guide from a Supercell partner creator, uploaded on 18 October 2026. This was its pick for Town Hall 12. The creator called the Archer Queen's Giant Arrow and the Grand Warden's Eternal Tome the two key pieces of equipment.
The army in short:
- 1Super Dragons as the main wave, with a couple of Balloons.
- 2One Baby Dragon to funnel the far side.
- 3A Battle Blimp carrying a Super Yeti.
- 4Three Clone spells and a Rage spell for the core.
- 5A Totem from the Clan Castle as the last spell.
The Clone spells look odd until you see why. At TH12 your Clone spells can't copy the Super Yeti itself. They can copy the small Electromites the Yeti releases, and that's the whole trick. A pack of cloned Electromites rips through the core while the Dragons work inward.
Plan the Entry Before You Drop Anything
The creator's first step happens before a single troop goes down. Look at the base and decide two things.
Where will the Dragons fly in? The answer is the side opposite the Town Hall. The Dragons sweep toward the core while the Blimp hits it from above.
Can the Giant Arrow take out an Air Sweeper? That's the job of the Archer Queen in this army. If the same shot also hits an Air Defense, great, but it isn't required. You're really after the Sweeper.
In the creator's example, one arrow from the bottom of the base took two Air Defenses and the Sweeper. That's the best case. Most bases give you one or the other.
Next, drop a Baby Dragon on the other side to funnel. It pulls the outer buildings on that flank so your Dragons don't drift around the edge.
Sending the Dragons and the Blimp
Now send the main wave. Drop the Super Dragons in a line on your chosen side, with the Balloons just ahead. Then add the Grand Warden and the Minion Prince behind them.
The Blimp comes next, but don't rush it. The creator delayed it a little, based on how far it needed to fly. Send it too early and it can die before it reaches the core.
The Eternal Tome has one rule here. Use it before the Blimp leaves the Warden's aura. That keeps the Blimp alive for the last stretch to the Town Hall area.
You won't always reach the Town Hall itself. That's fine. The creator's advice was to aim for the highest damage spot in the base. Wherever the Yeti lands, that's where your Clone spells go.
Where Should the Clone Spells Go?
This step wins or loses the attack.
Spread the three Clone spells slightly. In the creator's example, they pushed the Clones just past the Town Hall. That let the Electromites spread beyond it and avoid the Giga Bomb at the Town Hall. The creator called this critically important.
Then cast the Rage spell in the middle of the three Clones. The Electromites need room to spread and get value. Packed together, they all die to one blast.
Once they spread, the Electromites take out the damage in front of the Dragons. The Dragons may split left and right at that point. That's normal, and it isn't a failure.
Be careful with the Totem. It's your only other spell. The creator saved it for a single target Inferno or a defending hero, wherever it bought the most time.
A Simpler Dragon Version Players Use
Not every account has Super Dragons ready. A December 2025 Reddit thread on the best TH12 attack shows a plainer version that one player shared.
- 1Regular Dragons, with three Rage spells and two Lightning spells.
- 2The two Lightning spells take out one Air Sweeper.
- 3A Super Yeti Blimp aimed at the Town Hall.
- 4The Archer Queen's Giant Arrow on two Air Defenses.
- 5A Recall spell from the Clan Castle to bring the Queen back for later use.
It's the same idea with fewer moving parts. The Lightning spells do the Queen's Sweeper job, so the Queen can aim at Air Defenses instead.
One player in that thread had only their Dragons maxed. That's common at TH12. If your Dragons are your best troop, this version is a safe place to start.
Army 2: Fireball Super Witches
For ground, the top pick is Fireball Super Witches. In a July 2026 Reddit thread on TH12 attacks besides Dragons, one player called it probably the strongest army for TH12. Another said it's basically what the TH12 leaderboard uses, along with Super Archers.
The catch is the equipment. This army leans on the Grand Warden's Fireball. It's his first Epic equipment, and it throws a fireball at the closest defense, with splash that hits ground and air. Our Grand Warden Fireball guide explains the levels that change its radius.
The Fireball clears the defenses in front of the Super Witches. The Witches then grind through the base with their own spawns.
An older variant from the December thread pairs Golems with Super Witches. That player used four Lightning spells and an Earthquake on the Inferno Towers.
Army 3: The Queen Charge Hybrid
The third army is the Queen charge hybrid. The Archer Queen walks one side with Healers and opens a lane. Then Hog Riders and Miners push through the rest.
The July thread listed it among the TH12 armies players run. One player shared a hybrid with an Overgrowth Spell in it. They explained the choice in the thread. The spell turned off an Inferno before the troops reached the middle, and it gave the Queen more time to finish her funnel.
That's a smart use of the spell. Supercell's notes say Overgrowth makes enemy defenses invisible, invulnerable and frozen while it lasts. Your troops ignore what it covers. It doesn't affect Heroes or Clan Castle troops.
Our Overgrowth Spell guide covers more ways to path troops with it. At TH12, it's the spell this army is built around.
Other TH12 Armies Worth Knowing
The two Reddit threads named more options. These are worth a friendly challenge before you bring them to war.
| Army | What players said |
|---|---|
| Mass Super Archer smash | Named next to Super Witches as a leaderboard army |
| Queen charge with Fireball and Rocket Balloons | Suggested for players who feel risky |
| Electro Dragons | Named as an option in the July thread |
| Golem with Super Witches | Shared with Lightning and Earthquake on the Infernos |
| Ice based Witches with Bats | Called plenty of fun by one player |
None of these replace the three main armies. They give you a backup when a base layout breaks your usual plan.
Try one at a time. Switching armies every war makes it hard to learn any of them well.
Which Army Fits the Base in Front of You?
I compared the three armies against the base traits that decide most TH12 wars. Use this as a starting point.
| Base trait | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Air Sweepers in a clean line from one edge | Super Dragons with the Yeti Blimp | One Giant Arrow clears the way |
| Air Defenses grouped in the core | Queen charge hybrid | Ground troops ignore air defense |
| Strong outer ring, defenses spread wide | Fireball Super Witches | The Fireball keeps clearing the closest defense |
| Single target Infernos guarding the middle | Any army with Overgrowth or a donated Totem | Both buy time at the Infernos |
The TH12 war base guide shows these layouts from the defending side. Reading it helps you spot where a builder hides the traps.
Mistakes That Cost the Third Star
Most failed TH12 attacks break in the same few places. Most of these come straight from the creator's guide.
- 1Flying in from the Town Hall side. The creator flew in from the opposite side.
- 2Ignoring the Air Sweeper. It pushes the whole Dragon wave back.
- 3Sending the Blimp too early. It needs the Warden's protection.
- 4Using the Eternal Tome after the Blimp leaves the aura.
- 5Stacking the Clone spells on the Town Hall. The Electromites need to spread past it.
- 6Spending the Totem on a weak target.
Watch your replay after every war attack. Find the first second the attack went wrong. It's usually earlier than you think.
How I Built This Guide
I read a TH12 attack guide from a Supercell partner creator, uploaded on 18 October 2026. I kept its plan and the order of steps. You won't find any of its numbers here.
I read two Reddit threads for the other armies: one from December 2025, one from July 2026. Every army in the tables comes from a player in those threads.
I checked the Overgrowth Spell against Supercell's February 2024 patch notes. That's where its Town Hall 12 unlock and its effect come from.
I didn't list exact troop counts. Your hero levels and Clan Castle size change the right mix. Use the order and the logic, then fill your camps to match your own account. If a balance change shifts these armies, I'll update this guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best TH12 army for war in 2026?
Super Dragons with a Super Yeti Blimp is the plan I'd start with. It uses the Queen's Giant Arrow on an Air Sweeper and Clone spells on the Electromites. For ground, Fireball Super Witches are the pick Reddit players praised most. Learn one of each.
Are Fireball Super Witches better than Dragons at TH12?
They're stronger in the right hands, but they need the Grand Warden's Fireball. Without it, the army loses its main tool. Dragons are easier to learn and forgive more mistakes. If your Fireball is high level, give the Witches a try.
Can a TH12 use the Totem Spell?
Only as a Clan Castle donation. The Totem Spell unlocks at Town Hall 16, so you can't brew it at TH12. Ask a clanmate to donate it and save it for a single target Inferno or a defending hero. Overgrowth is your own spell that does a similar job.
How should a TH12 attack a TH13 in war?
Pick a TH13 base with a weak outer side and go for two stars. The Dragon plan works, but you'll need your best spells and a strong Clan Castle. Our TH13 attack strategy guide shows what the TH13 players run. A clean two stars beats a failed three star try.
When should I use the Overgrowth Spell at TH12?
Use it on a defense that would break your funnel or kill your troops early. One player cast it on an Inferno before the troops reached the middle. It also gives the Queen time to finish her lane. It doesn't stop Heroes or Clan Castle troops.
