Portal Pendant Guide 2026: Stats, Pairings and Deadline

The Portal Pendant pulls the Minion Prince and up to 400 housing space of troops back to redeploy them healed and hasted. Max stats, pairings, and the deadline.

The Short Version

Quick answer: The Portal Pendant is a new epic equipment for the Minion Prince. Its ability pulls him and nearby troops back to your deployment bar. You then drop them anywhere, healed and hasted. At max level it recalls up to 400 housing space in a 10 tile radius. Buy it with Rift Medals before October 27.

It isn't a must buy for every account. It's a tool for one job: rescuing an army that walked into the wrong spot.

All numbers here are as of October 2026.

What Supercell Says It Does

I read Supercell's own event post first, because creator previews sometimes run on early builds.

The official wording is short. The pendant recalls friendly troops and heroes inside the portal's radius, up to its Recall Capacity. They come back with partial healing and a temporary speed boost.

The Minion Prince also gets instant healing when it fires.

Upgrades raise four things: the radius, the capacity, the healing, and how long the speed boost lasts. That's the whole stat sheet. There's no damage number on the ability itself.

So think of it as a repositioning tool. It doesn't kill buildings. It saves the units that do.

How the Recall Works, Tap by Tap

The flow is different from the Recall Spell, and that trips people up.

You tap the Minion Prince's ability as usual. A portal opens around him and swallows every eligible unit inside it.

You don't get a new icon at the end of your troop bar. Instead, the Minion Prince icon lights up again.

Tap it once more. Then tap the spot on the map where you want everyone back.

Every recalled unit lands on that single spot together. That's where the healing and haste kick in.

One tap point means one funnel. Pick a spot that already has a clear path inward, or the haste is wasted on a wall.

The Max Level Numbers

Supercell's post doesn't list per level stats. The max level figures below come from the preview build shown in a creator breakdown. I compared it with a second breakdown, and the 400 capacity matches.

Stat at max levelValue
Portal radius10 tiles
Recall capacity400 housing space
Healing on redeploy35%
Haste after redeploy8 seconds

For scale, 10 tiles is far wider than a Recall Spell's circle. And 400 housing space is a big slice of a top level army.

Treat these as preview numbers. If the live game shows something different, the live game wins.

What It Can and Can't Pull Back

Capacity fills fast once heroes are inside the circle.

A hero takes 25 housing space of the 400. A pet takes 20. So the Minion Prince plus three other heroes and their pets already eat 175 before a single troop counts.

Siege machines can't be recalled at all. If your Sky Wagon or Battle Blimp sits inside the portal, it stays behind.

That matters for timing. Fire the pendant before your siege drops its Clan Castle troops, and those troops may still be stuck where the machine was.

Plan the recall for the moment your main army is grouped and in trouble. A scattered army wastes the radius.

How It Levels Up

The pendant levels like other epic equipment, with Shiny, Glowy and Starry Ore.

The pattern is simple. Every third level raises the ability's stats: radius, healing, haste and capacity. The levels in between add health recovery, which is the Minion Prince's hero boost.

So the third, sixth and ninth levels and so on are the ones you actually feel in an attack. The others make him a bit tougher.

If you're short on Starry Ore, stop on a stat level, not one step past it. You'll get the full value of what you paid.

Our hero equipment tier list shows where ore usually goes first.

The Fatal Damage Save

One detail is easy to miss, and it's the best thing about the pendant.

Supercell's post says the ability fires on its own if the Minion Prince takes fatal damage. You don't have to time it perfectly.

That turns a dead hero into a recalled hero. He comes back with instant healing, and anyone near him comes along.

This is a real safety net in war. A Minion Prince often dies to a hidden air defense or a burst of Inferno damage.

With the pendant, that death becomes a second deployment. You still lose his place in the base, but you keep him and the army around him.

Which Equipment to Pair It With

The Minion Prince carries two pieces. The pendant is an active ability, so the second slot should be passive.

Don't pair it with the Dark Orb. The orb works where the Minion Prince fights, and the pendant pulls everyone away from that spot. They cancel each other out.

Better partners are easy to name. The Dark Crown gives a steady passive boost while he flies. The Meteor Staff works if you already own and level it. The Henchmen Puppet works too, but the henchmen get recalled with him, which blunts it.

Two epics look like the strongest setup. Our Minion Prince equipment guide covers the older combos in full.

Where It Helps in a Real Attack

Two spots stand out.

Below Town Hall 18, the Town Hall's poison can melt an army that pushes too deep. The pendant pulls everyone out of it and drops them on fresh ground.

At Town Hall 18, the core of a base hits from every side. Ice Golems can freeze a whole group in place. A recall gets them out and gives 8 seconds of haste on the way back in.

It also helps a Queen Charge that drifted to the wrong side. Recall the healers and the Queen together, then start a fresh path.

In each case the pendant fixes a mistake. It isn't the plan itself.

Where It Gets Awkward

Pathing is the problem.

Every recalled unit lands on one spot. From there, they pick new targets, and you can't steer them except with walls you've already broken.

A group that was inside the core now has to fight back in from the edge. That's time on the clock.

There's also the trade. To run the pendant, you give up the Dark Orb, which most players rate as the Minion Prince's best piece.

Often a well placed Rage or Freeze would have pushed through the same trouble spot.

That's why one creator I read called it niche. Unless someone finds a strategy built around it, it won't be a daily pick.

How to Get It Before the Shop Closes

The pendant sits in the Trader shop for the Portal Panic medal event.

Date (UTC)What happens
October 8, 08:00Event starts, Town Hall 6 and up
October 20, 08:00Pendant boosted to max, Town Hall 9 and up
October 25, 08:00Event ends
October 27, 08:00Shop closes

You earn Rift Medals by collecting Sour Elixir in battles. It floats above three random buildings in regular, ranked and revenge attacks.

The free track gives 3,200 medals, and the bonus track adds 200. That's 3,400 without paying. I checked those totals against two separate breakdowns, and they agree.

The Free Max Level Window

From October 20 to October 25, the pendant is boosted to the max level for your Town Hall. Supercell limits this to Town Hall 9 and up.

You must own it first. The boost won't unlock it for you.

This is the cheapest way to test it. Buy it at level 1, wait for the boost, and run real attacks with full stats.

The free track also hands out two Mighty Muscle magic snacks. They let you try the equipment at max level outside the boost window.

If it clicks with your army after that test, start putting ore into it. If it doesn't, leave it at level 1 and move on.

Should You Buy It?

It depends on what else you're missing. Six epics sit in the shop this event.

  1. 1Rocket Backpack first if you don't own it. Creators point out it doesn't come from the Hero Journey.
  2. 2Portal Pendant next if your Hero Journey still has free epics coming, since the pendant isn't in it.
  3. 3Snake Bracelet or Fireball if your Hero Journey is stalled. Both are proven meta picks.
  4. 4Frozen Arrow last. Most players skip it.

New to the pendant? Grab it, test it in the boost window, and judge it on your own attacks.

While you test, you can browse fresh base layouts to practice recalls on real war bases.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Portal Pendant do in Clash of Clans?

It's a Minion Prince epic equipment with an active ability. It opens a portal that pulls him and nearby troops, heroes and pets back to your deployment bar. You redeploy them on one spot with partial healing and a speed boost. It also fires on its own if the Minion Prince takes fatal damage.

How many troops can the Portal Pendant recall?

At max level it recalls up to 400 housing space inside a 10 tile radius, going by the preview build. Heroes count as 25 each and pets as 20. Siege machines can't be recalled at all.

When does the Portal Pendant leave the shop?

The Portal Panic event runs from October 8 to October 25, 2026, at 08:00 UTC. The Trader shop stays open until October 27 at 08:00 UTC. After that, you can't buy it with Rift Medals.

Should I use the Portal Pendant with the Dark Orb?

No. The Dark Orb works where the Minion Prince fights, and the pendant pulls everyone away from that spot. Pair it with a passive piece like the Dark Crown instead. Two epics look like the strongest setup.

Is the Portal Pendant worth the ore?

Only if it fits your attacks. Test it during the free max level window from October 20 to 25 first. If you need ore for it, our guide on how to get more ore lists every source.
