How to Get More Ore in Clash of Clans in 2026
Ore is the real bottleneck on hero equipment. Here's every source, the exact amounts, and the one myth about starry ore that costs players trophies.

Quick answer
> Quick answer: Your daily star bonus is the biggest ore tap you own, and it scales with your league. At Legend it pays 1,100 shiny, 65 glowy and 2 starry every single day. At Skeleton 1 it pays 300 shiny, 20 glowy and no starry at all.
So the fastest way to get more ore is to stop parking your trophies low. Everything else is a rounding error next to that daily number.
The rest of this covers war ore, the trader deals people forget, and one claim about starry ore that's simply wrong.
The star bonus does give starry ore
Let's kill this one first, because I've read it in three separate guides this month.
The claim is that starry ore never comes from your daily star bonus, only from wars and the trader. That's false.
I pulled the reward table and checked it league by league. Starry ore starts appearing at Archer League 8, at 1 per bonus. It stays at 1 all the way up through Titan and Dragon, then goes to 2 at Electro League 31 and stays at 2 in Legend.
The reason the myth spreads is that most players repeating it are in Barbarian or Skeleton league, where it really is zero. They're not lying. They're just describing their own bracket.
One more thing about the star bonus that's worth more than it sounds. Since the April 2024 update, star bonus multipliers apply to ore as well. So a 2x star bonus event doubles your ore for that day, not just your gold.
What each league actually pays per day
The curve is steeper at the bottom than most people expect, and flatter at the top.
Skeleton 1 pays 300 shiny and 20 glowy. Archer 8, the first league with starry, pays 475 shiny, 27 glowy and 1 starry. Wizard 10 pays 525, 31 and 1.
By Titan 25 you're at 1,000 shiny, 57 glowy and still 1 starry. Legend pays 1,100, 65 and 2.
So look at where the real jumps are. Getting from Skeleton to Archer 8 more than doubles your shiny and unlocks starry entirely. Getting from Titan to Legend adds 100 shiny and one starry.
That means the players with the most to gain here are the mid range accounts, not the pushers. If you're sitting in Crystal or Master and not collecting a star bonus every day, that's the single biggest ore leak on your account.
Five stars in multiplayer, once a day. That's the whole requirement.
War ore, and the rule that decides how much you get
War pays ore too, and the mechanics here are worth understanding because most players leave a chunk of it on the table.
You earn ore for attacking any base at Town Hall 8 or higher. Starry ore only comes from bases at Town Hall 10 or higher, so hitting down at a low Town Hall costs you the starry entirely.
Here's the part that matters. One star on the attack awards the FULL ore available from that base. Not a third, not a proportion. One star, full ore.
If you fail to get a single star, you get an amount proportional to the damage percentage instead. So a 99 percent no star attack pays less than a scrappy 1 star at 40 percent.
That changes how you should pick a target when the war is already decided. Take the star, even an ugly one.
Losing the war halves your ore. A draw pays four sevenths. And the war bonus extra loot clan perk does nothing for ore, so don't count it. Our Clan War League strategy guide covers picking targets when the roster is mixed.
The trader deals almost nobody uses
The trader refreshes weekly, and there are three raid medal deals sitting there that most players walk past.
500 shiny ore for 350 raid medals. 50 glowy ore for 300 raid medals. 5 starry ore for 350 raid medals.
You can take each one twice per refresh. Do the maths on that. Both starry deals together is 10 starry ore for 700 raid medals, every week, forever.
He also hands out 10 free glowy ore on each weekly refresh, which costs nothing and is missed constantly because it looks like an ad.
I'd rank the starry deal first every week. Starry is the type that gates the last levels of epic equipment, and raid medals are the currency most players have spare.
Why ore feels so tight in the first place
Worth knowing, because it explains a design decision that annoys a lot of players.
Roughly 30 percent of all Clash of Clans players don't own a single epic equipment piece. Not one. To anyone reading a farming guide that number sounds impossible, but it's the actual player base.
That's why the hero journey exists as a catch-up mechanic, and why ore drips rather than pours. The economy is tuned for a player who logs in twice a week, not for someone reading this.
I counted the sources on this page and there are six, and four of them are free. That's a deliberately wide net for a currency that's meant to feel scarce.
So the gap between an efficient player and an average one is enormous here. Collecting a daily bonus and taking two trader deals puts you months ahead of someone who does neither.
That's the real answer to "how do I get more ore". Not a trick. Just the four free taps, turned on, every week.
Why you should never buy ore with gems
You can pay gems for ore inside the blacksmith when you're short. Look at the rate before you do.
One shiny costs 1 gem. One glowy costs 5. One starry costs 35.
Take an epic equipment piece from level 1 to level 27 purely on gems and the bill is 90,560 gems. Going from just level 26 to 27 costs 11,850.
That's not a deal, it's an emergency button. The same gems buy builder time, and builder time is the thing that actually gates a base.
Use the button only when you're two hundred shiny short of finishing an upgrade tonight. Never as a plan.
More ore is coming, and it won't be sold
There's a second half to this that changes how hard you should grind right now.
The team has said the ore economy is a separate problem they're actively working on, and that the fix is more ways to earn ore through events. That's from an interview series, not a patch note, so treat it as direction. Supercell's own Clash of Clans blog is where it'll land properly when it does.
They also said ore chests, currently tied to the hero journey, are being looked at for other places in the game.
And they were clear on one thing. Ore chests won't be sold, the same way regular chests aren't.
I watched enough of this cycle to know what that means practically. If more free ore is arriving in a few months, spending 90,000 gems on ore today is even worse value than the raw maths suggests. Wait.
What I'd actually do this week
Collect the star bonus every day. Five stars, one minute of attacks, and it's the biggest number on this page.
Check your league. If you're below Archer 8 and you have the army for it, push. That's where starry ore switches on.
Open the trader on refresh day and take both starry deals plus the free glowy.
In war, take the star even when the war is lost. Ore is paid per attack, not per result.
And point the ore at the right equipment. Our hero equipment priority guide covers which pieces earn it first, and you can copy current layouts from the base browser while you farm.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the daily star bonus give starry ore?
Yes, from Archer League 8 upward. It pays 1 starry ore per bonus through most leagues, then 2 from Electro League 31 and in Legend. Below Archer 8 it gives shiny and glowy only, which is why so many players believe starry never comes from star bonuses.
What is the fastest way to farm ore in Clash of Clans?
Collect the star bonus every day and push your league up. Legend pays 1,100 shiny, 65 glowy and 2 starry daily, against 300 shiny and 20 glowy at Skeleton 1. No other source comes close to that on a per day basis.
How much ore do you get from a clan war attack?
Scoring at least one star awards the full ore available from that base. Failing to star pays only a share based on your damage percentage. Starry ore requires the defender to be Town Hall 10 or higher, and any ore at all requires Town Hall 8 or higher.
Are the trader ore deals worth taking?
The starry one is. It's 5 starry ore for 350 raid medals, and you can take it twice per weekly refresh. He also gives 10 glowy ore free on every refresh. Our CWL medals guide covers the other currency most players sit on too long.
Should I buy ore with gems?
Only to finish an upgrade you're a few ore short of. One starry ore costs 35 gems, and taking an epic piece from level 1 to 27 on gems alone would cost 90,560. Builder time is a far better use of the same gems.
