COC Gold Pass Rework 2026: Stamps, Hoggy Bank & More

The Gold Pass got rebuilt in March 2026. Stamps, Hoggy Bank, Prospector, Choice Nodes explained — plus whether it's still worth buying.

Wait, What Happened to My Gold Pass?

I opened COC on March 1st, tapped the Gold Pass tab, and thought my game was broken. Everything looked different. The layout, the progression bar, the rewards — all of it.

Supercell didn't just give the Gold Pass a fresh coat of paint. They ripped out the engine and dropped in a new one. The old challenge system? Gone. The Season Bank? Replaced. Even the way rewards scale got completely rethought.

If you've been playing for a while, you probably remember how it used to work. Every week you'd get a batch of challenges — "destroy 40 buildings," "win 10 versus battles," that kind of thing. Miss a week and you'd spend the next one grinding like crazy to catch up. Some of those challenges were fine. Others forced you to run armies you'd never touch otherwise just to tick a box.

All of that is history now. Supercell outlined the changes in their official blog post and honestly, once you understand how the new system works, it's hard to miss the old one.

How Stamps and Stamp Cards Actually Work

So here's the deal. Every day you get 8 tasks. They're dead simple — attack a base, start an upgrade, donate troops, train an army. Stuff you'd already be doing if you play for 15 minutes a day.

Each completed task earns you a stamp. Collect enough stamps and you fill a Stamp Card. Each completed card gives you a chunk of Season Points that push you through the reward track.

The part that makes this better than the old system? Nothing expires. If you skip Monday, those tasks are still waiting on Tuesday. Your Stamp Cards stack too — you earn a new card every day, and the old ones sit there until you knock them out. My clanmate went on a family trip for five days, came back, and plowed through all his stacked cards in one long session. Under the old system, he would've lost those challenge points forever.

Gold Pass players get bonus points from completed cards, so you'll move through the track faster. And here's the sneaky good part — during the final week of each season, stamps and cards are worth more points. Supercell is basically saying "hey casual players, we got you." If you only grind hard at the end, the math is designed to let you catch up.

I've been running this for three weeks and it's so much less annoying. No more rearranging my war army to complete some random "use 50 Goblins" task. You just play normally and the stamps come. Blueprint CoC has a solid deeper breakdown if you want the exact numbers.

The Hoggy Bank Replaced the Season Bank (And Yeah, It's Better)

Remember the Season Bank? It grew slowly over the month as you played, and Gold Pass doubled its capacity. Decent system, but it had a weird problem — a TH16 player and a TH10 player earned at roughly the same rate. Made no sense.

The Hoggy Bank fixes that. It starts at maximum capacity from day one. No slow buildup, no income multipliers — the bank is already full when the season begins. Your Town Hall level at the start of the season determines the bank's size, so higher TH players get a proportionally bigger payout.

But here's where the Gold Pass comes in. Free players claim the Hoggy Bank at face value. Gold Pass holders? They get a 5× payout multiplier.

I'm at TH16 and my first Hoggy Bank claim with Gold Pass was genuinely ridiculous. Way more resources than the old Season Bank ever gave me. If you're mid-to-late game, this single change might justify the $5 on its own.

For lower TH players, the bank is smaller but still scales appropriately. A TH10 player isn't getting TH16 payouts, but they're getting exactly what they need for their upgrade cycle. It's smarter design all around.

The Prospector Is Basically a Free Ore Printer

Hit 2,400 Season Points with the Gold Pass and you unlock the Prospector — a new Village Helper that lives in the Helper Hut. What does he do? He converts ores daily for the rest of the season.

If you've been struggling with equipment upgrades — and let's be real, who hasn't — this is a big deal. Ores are the main bottleneck for leveling hero equipment. You need specific types for specific pieces, and the drops from regular attacks are wildly inconsistent. One week you're drowning in Shiny Ore, the next you can't find any Starry Ore to save your life.

The Prospector gives you a predictable daily conversion that smooths out the randomness. If you're grinding to level up Dragon Duke's Fire Heart or Stun Blaster, that steady ore income adds up fast.

One catch though — he only lasts for the current season. Every month you need to re-earn those 2,400 points to unlock him again. It's not a permanent addition to your village. But if you're buying Gold Pass anyway, you'll hit 2,400 points naturally just by doing your daily tasks. I reached it around day 14 without even trying hard.

Choice Nodes — Pick Your Own Rewards

This one flew under the radar but it's lowkey the best quality-of-life change in the whole rework.

Scattered along the reward track you'll find Choice Nodes. At each one, you pick between two rewards — like a Book of Heroes versus a Book of Spells, or one Rune over another. Simple concept. Massive impact.

Under the old Gold Pass, you got whatever Supercell decided to put on the track. If you desperately needed a Book of Building but the track gave you a Book of Fighting, too bad. Now you've got actual agency over your progression.

My first Choice Node was between a Rune of Gold and a Rune of Elixir. I had three elixir upgrades queued, so the choice was obvious. A clanmate who was pushing defenses went the other way. Same node, completely different value depending on where you are in your upgrade path.

This also makes Gold Pass way more useful for players who are strategically rushing or focusing on specific upgrades. The rewards flex around your situation instead of being one-size-fits-all. It's the kind of thing that sounds small until you're staring at two options and realizing both are useful — just one is perfect for right now.

So Is the $5 Still Worth It?

I've bought the Gold Pass basically every month since it launched, so take my opinion with that context. But the rework genuinely made it better value than before.

The Hoggy Bank with the 5× multiplier at TH15+ is absurd. The Prospector's daily ore conversion is clutch if you're pushing equipment levels. The bonus points from Stamp Cards mean you unlock perks faster. And all the standard stuff is still there — 20% builder boost, 20% research boost, 1-gem donations, the hero skin.

Speaking of the hero skin, March 2026 features a Dragonscale Minion Prince that looks pretty solid. Not the main selling point, but a nice bonus.

If you're TH10 or above and play a few times a week, $5 for a month of boosted progression is still the best deal in the game. And the new system respects your time better — no more feeling punished because you didn't log in on a Tuesday.

Free players, the daily task system is actually easier to engage with than the old challenges. You won't get the Prospector or the 5× bank, but the base reward track still has good stuff. If you're free-to-play and looking to improve, spending your energy on finding strong base layouts and practicing war attacks is probably higher ROI than stressing over the pass.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the new Gold Pass stamp system work in Clash of Clans?

You get 8 daily tasks that earn stamps. Fill a Stamp Card to receive Season Points. Cards and tasks stack if you miss days, so you can always catch up. In the final week of each season, stamps are worth extra points.

What is the Hoggy Bank in COC and how is it different from the Season Bank?

The Hoggy Bank replaced the old Season Bank in March 2026. It starts at max capacity from day one and scales to your Town Hall level. Gold Pass holders get a 5× payout multiplier when claiming it at season end.

What does the Prospector do in Clash of Clans?

The Prospector is a new Village Helper unlocked at 2,400 Season Points with the Gold Pass. He converts ores daily for the rest of the season, helping you upgrade hero equipment faster. He resets each month.

Is the COC Gold Pass still worth buying after the 2026 rework?

Yes — the reworked Gold Pass offers more value than before. The Hoggy Bank 5× multiplier alone gives TH15+ players a massive resource injection every season. Add in daily ore from the Prospector, bonus Stamp Card points, Choice Nodes for personalized rewards, and the standard perks like 20% builder and research boosts. For $5 a month it's still the best deal in the game, especially if you play a few times a week.

What are Choice Nodes in the new COC Gold Pass?

Choice Nodes are spots on the reward track where you pick between two rewards — like a Book of Heroes vs. a Book of Spells. This lets you tailor rewards to your current upgrade priorities instead of getting a fixed set.

Do Gold Pass daily tasks expire in Clash of Clans?

No. Unlike the old weekly challenges, daily tasks and Stamp Cards stack indefinitely. If you miss several days, everything is still waiting for you when you come back.
