About This Tournament

The first 2v2 tournament on Base Drop! 32 teams compete in a single elimination bracket. Registration is open — grab a partner and battle for Rs. 450 in prizes. Streamed live on BackTimeUpside YouTube.

The 2v2 Tournament Season 1 is the next step in Base Drop's tournament lineup, and it's the most accessible event we've run so far. Two-player teams, Rs. 50 per team to enter (Rs. 25 per player — about the cost of a chai), and a full 32-team single-elimination bracket so the field is big enough to feel like a real competition.

The 2v2 format hits a sweet spot: you only need to convince one friend to commit a Sunday afternoon, and the strategic load is shared without the coordination headaches of 3v3 lineups. One of you opens with a heavy attack — Queen Charge Hybrid, Root Rider spam, whatever takes down the strongest defenses — and the other closes the deal on the cleanup village. We're partnering with the BackTimeUpside YouTube channel again for live coverage, bracket admin, and dispute handling.

The format is single elimination, which keeps the day moving — you lose once, you're out — but it also means every match matters from the very first round. A 32-team bracket means 5 rounds total: Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Grand Finals best-of-3. With matches starting at 2 PM IST on May 1, 2026, the whole thing should wrap up by 8 PM.

The Rs. 450 prize pool gets paid out three ways — Rs. 250 to the winning team, Rs. 125 to runners-up, Rs. 75 to 3rd place.

If we sell out all 32 slots and demand stays strong for Season 2, expect bigger pools next time around. Register early — the bracket fills first-come-first-served and we won't expand past 32 to keep the schedule tight.

Tournament Day Schedule

Registration closes 24 hours before the tournament — that's 2 PM IST on April 30, 2026. Check-in opens at 1:30 PM IST on May 1 and closes at 1:55 PM. Round 1 (Round of 32) starts at 2 PM IST. Round 2 (Round of 16) follows at approximately 3 PM. Quarter-Finals around 4 PM, Semi-Finals around 5 PM, the 3rd-place playoff at 5:45 PM, and the Grand Finals best-of-3 at 6 PM. Buffer time is built in between rounds for army training, scouting, and short breaks. The whole event should wrap by 8 PM IST. Prize distribution begins within 24 hours of the Finals concluding, with all UPI payouts confirmed within 48 hours. Schedule is approximate — if a round runs long, subsequent rounds shift by 10-15 minutes and admins announce updates in the WhatsApp group.

What to Expect After Registering

Registration is handled entirely in our official Tournament WhatsApp group (https://chat.whatsapp.com/GrcHw94f0ITJ2AxAy4MgQO). To enter, join the group and post your team name, both players' Clash usernames and tags, town hall levels, and a contact number for the team captain. A tournament admin will reply with UPI payment details for the Rs. 50 per-team entry fee — once you pay and share the screenshot, your spot is locked. The WhatsApp group is the single source of truth on match day: bracket announcements, opponent assignments, village tags for scouting, dispute filings, and admin pings all flow through there. Make sure WhatsApp notifications are on for both teammates. About 30 minutes before your scheduled match, you'll be DM'd your opponent's village links so you can scout and plan armies. Have your COC client open and your war army cooked — late check-in past the 10-minute grace window means walkover.

How the Format Works

32 teams enter a single-elimination bracket. That's 16 matches in Round 1 (Round of 32), 8 in Round 2 (Round of 16), 4 in Quarter-Finals, 2 in Semi-Finals, and 1 best-of-3 Grand Final. Every round except the Final is best-of-1: each team's two players each attack the opposing team's two home villages — that's 4 total attacks per match. Total stars across the 4 attacks decide the winner, with total destruction percentage as the tiebreaker. If both stars and destruction are perfectly tied (rare with 4 attacks but possible with double 3-star sweeps), the team captains play a single tiebreaker attack on a neutral pre-selected village. The Grand Finals best-of-3 means the two finalist teams play up to three rounds of 2v2 attacks, first team to 2 round wins takes the trophy. Each round of the Finals follows the same scoring (4 attacks total per round). All Town Hall levels are allowed and mixed-TH teams (one TH16 + one TH14, for example) are fine — match-ups are village-vs-village so you'll always be attacking against a similar TH. Captains assign which of their two players attacks which opposing village before the round starts; once locked, no swaps. The third-place playoff is a single best-of-1 between the two losing semi-finalists.

Eligibility & Anti-Cheat

Open to any 2-player team globally. Both members must have an active Clash of Clans account in good standing. There is no minimum Town Hall requirement and mixed-TH pairings are explicitly allowed (one TH17 + one TH13 is fine). The tournament runs on May 1, 2026 starting at 2 PM IST — make sure both teammates can be online and reachable that afternoon. Both players need to be available on the WhatsApp group (https://chat.whatsapp.com/GrcHw94f0ITJ2AxAy4MgQO) for the entire match window. Check-in opens 30 minutes before start. Anti-cheat rules: no modded APKs, no third-party clients like PlenixClash or NullsClash, no emulator setups with injection or speed-hack tools, no script automation. To find a teammate, post in the Base Drop community channels with your TH level and preferred role (opener vs closer). Substitutions are allowed only before your team's first match — once you've played a single round, the duo is locked.

Prize Distribution

🏆Winner
Rs. 250
🥈Runner-up
Rs. 125
🥉3rd Place
Rs. 75

Rs. 450 total pool split three ways: Rs. 250 for the winning team, Rs. 125 for runners-up, Rs. 75 for the 3rd place team (decided by a single best-of-1 between the two losing semi-finalists). Payouts go out within 48 hours of the Grand Finals via UPI to the team captain's account — captain distributes to teammate however the duo agrees (50/50 split is the norm). International winners get PayPal instead. Transfer references are posted publicly in the WhatsApp group for transparency. No tax withholding applies — these prize amounts are well below the Rs. 10,000 TDS threshold under Indian tax rules — but winners are responsible for their own income declarations if applicable. If S1 sells out and demand for S2 grows, the prize pool will scale up proportionally with entry fees, with the same percentage-based split.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for this tournament?+

Registration is fully managed through our official Tournament WhatsApp group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GrcHw94f0ITJ2AxAy4MgQO. Tap the join link, post your team details (team name, player Clash usernames + tags, town hall levels, captain contact), and a tournament admin will share UPI payment details for the Rs. 50 per-team entry fee. Once you've paid and posted the payment screenshot, your spot is confirmed. There is no email or on-site form — everything happens in the WhatsApp group so admins can answer questions and confirm payments in real time.

How do I find a partner for the 2v2?+

The Base Drop community channels (Discord and the official WhatsApp group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GrcHw94f0ITJ2AxAy4MgQO) have a dedicated looking-for-group section. Post your TH level, time zone, and which role you prefer (heavy opener or cleanup closer). Most pairs that perform well in S1 will be ones that practiced together for a few war attacks before the bracket date — random pickups can work but coordination matters.

What happens if my partner can't show up on tournament day?+

Substitutions are allowed only before your team plays its first match. Once you've played a single round, the duo is locked. If your partner ghosts before Round 1, message a tournament admin on WhatsApp ASAP and we'll try to slot in a backup — but no guarantees. If your partner drops mid-bracket, your team is eliminated since you can't attack alone in 2v2.

Are mods, scripts, or modified clients allowed?+

No. Only the official Supercell Clash of Clans client is permitted. That means no modded APKs (PlenixClash, NullsClash, etc.), no script-driven attacks, no emulator setups with injection or speed hacks. Admins watch streams and review attacks that look mechanically impossible. Confirmed cheating means immediate disqualification, prize forfeiture, and a ban from future Base Drop tournaments.

Can I watch the tournament live as a spectator?+

Yes — the full bracket streams live on the BackTimeUpside YouTube channel starting at 2 PM IST on May 1, 2026, with commentary, replays, and post-attack analysis. The link will be posted on this page's Stream tab and in the WhatsApp group when the broadcast goes live. The full VOD will stay up afterwards for replay analysis.

What if my game lags or I lose connection during a match?+

Unfortunately, in-game lag during a war attack still counts — your troops misbehaving doesn't qualify for a redo. If your game fully crashes mid-attack, screenshot the disconnect immediately and post it to the WhatsApp group. Admins will review on a case-by-case basis but persistent network issues are not grounds for replay. Test your connection before your match window.

How are match results verified?+

Each player screenshots their attack result (stars + destruction percentage) and posts it to the WhatsApp group within 5 minutes of the match ending. Tournament admins tally totals and confirm the winner. Captains can dispute a result by posting screenshots within 10 minutes — admins make the final call. The live stream also serves as a backup record if a dispute escalates.
