The WWE Season Ends 1 October: What You Lose If You Wait

I checked the official season page rather than trusting the chatter, because the end date was being reported wrong in a few places. It is 1 October, not 30 September.

That extra day matters if you were planning to decide on the last evening of the month.

Seasonal cosmetics in this game have a mixed history. Some come back in a shop rotation. Some genuinely do not.

This season is in the second group and the page is unusually blunt about it. It says that once the season ends on October 1st these Superstars pack their bags and leave the ring for good, with no re-runs and no second chances, and that the skins will not return, ever.

That's about as clear as Supercell gets. You can read it yourself on the WWE season page.

So treat this as a real deadline rather than a marketing one.

There are six, one for every hero, and they released on a stagger through the month.

Jey Uso is the Minion Prince skin and it sits inside the Gold Pass rather than the shop. Cody Rhodes is the Barbarian King, available from 3 September. Alexa Bliss is the Archer Queen from the 5th. Iyo Sky is the Royal Champion from the 7th.

Kane is the Dragon Duke skin from the 8th, and the American Badass Undertaker is the Grand Warden from the 10th.

All six stay purchasable until the season closes. After that they're gone from the shop and from any future rotation.

None of them change a single stat, so this is purely about what you want to look at for the next few years.

If you fly one hero far more than the others, buy that hero's skin. You'll see it on every attack. That's the only rule that holds up.

The Dragon Duke skin is the one I'd point at if you're undecided, because the Dragon Duke is the newest hero and most accounts have no alternative skin for him yet. Our Dragon Duke equipment guide covers the hero himself if you're still working him out.

The Gold Pass skin is the cheapest route in, since you were possibly buying the pass anyway.

Four troops ran through September as temporary units and they go when the season goes.

The Yeti Undertaker takes 80 housing space and is the headline one. K.A.N.E takes 75. The Yeeter takes 45 and the Giant Giant takes 50.

These aren't cosmetics. They're actual units with actual attack value, which is why the month felt different to play.

When the season ends they stop appearing, and any army you built around them stops existing. So if you've been leaning on the Yeti Undertaker for war attacks, have a normal composition ready before October arrives.

The Money in the Bank XL scenery has been available since 2 September and it leaves with everything else.

Sceneries are the longest lived purchase in this game. You look at yours every single time you open the app, for years. That makes them better value than a skin for most people, even though they cost more.

There's also a Money in the Bank Title decoration from the clan rush event earlier in the month.

If you only buy one thing before the deadline and you like how this one looks, the scenery is the one I'd take. It's the thing you see most.

Nothing. This is the part people worry about for no reason.

A skin you bought stays yours forever. A scenery you bought stays yours forever. The deadline is on buying, not on keeping.

What does change is availability to everyone else. After 1 October nobody new can get them, which is the entire appeal for the people who care about that.

The temporary troops are the exception, because you never owned those. They were available to everyone during the season and they leave for everyone.

A hero skin in a licensed season sits at the higher end of the normal range, and the legendary ones cost more than the ordinary ones.

The Gold Pass skin is the cheapest way to own any skin at all, because you get it attached to a pass you may have wanted regardless.

Sceneries cost more than skins and always have. That's consistent across every season, licensed or not.

Buying all six skins plus the scenery is a serious amount of money for cosmetics that change nothing about how the game plays. Pick one or two rather than the set.

Two practical reasons, and both have bitten people before.

The first is time zones. Season endings run on a server clock, not yours, so the last day in your evening may already be over.

The second is that shop pages have gone down under load at the end of big seasons. It's rare but it happens, and there's no appeal process afterwards.

So if you've decided you want something, buy it a couple of days out. The price does not drop at the end. There's no clearance sale in this game.

The next season starts on 1 October and I am not going to tell you what's in it, because Supercell has not announced it yet.

There is plenty of speculation and most of it is recycled from a Halloween season two years ago. I read several posts claiming to know the October lineup and every one of them traced back to an old announcement.

So wait for the official post. It usually lands in the last few days of the month, on the Clash of Clans site.

What I can tell you is that a new season means a new Gold Pass, and the current one expires with the season.

Your Gold Pass runs with the season, not with the date you bought it.

Buy it on the 28th and you get three days of it. Buy it on the 1st and you get a month. That's the same price either way.

So if you have not bought this month's pass yet and it's late September, wait. Start the next one on the 1st instead and you get a full month of the discount and the rewards.

The exception is if you specifically want the Jey Uso Minion Prince skin, since that one lives inside this month's pass and leaves with it.

Clan Games sit from 22 to 28 September, right in the closing stretch of the season.

That's useful, because clan games rewards include books and runes that let you push an upgrade through before the month turns over.

It's also a squeeze on your attacks. War, clan games and any season challenges all want the same limited number of swings per day.

Prioritise clan games over the season challenges if you have to choose. The clan games rewards are worth more than the last few season tiers for most accounts, and the deadline is tighter.

Decide on the scenery first, because it's the thing you look at most and it's the purchase people regret missing.

Then decide on one skin, for the hero you actually fly. Not six. One.

Finish your clan games points before the 28th.

Hold your Gold Pass purchase until 1 October unless you want the Minion Prince skin.

And get a normal war army ready for the moment the limited troops disappear. If your layout needs work before the new season, browse the current war bases and copy something that holds while you rebuild.
